This animated children's film is based on the 1956 book by Robert Bright and published by Doubleday and Company, Inc. titled "Georgie to the Rescue." This film was produced by was produced A Viking Films Miniature Film Studios Productionin, directed by Richard Slapczynski, and narrated by Wayne Tippit with music by Waldemar Kazanecki. At the turn of the twentieth centrury, Mr. and Mrs. Whittaker, their cat named Herman, the owl named Miss Oliver, and the gentle ghost named Georgie travel from the country to the city. Everyone settles into the hotel. Georgie finds an elevator to haunt and Miss Oliver finds a flag pole to perch upon. Being a rare site in the city, Miss Oliver is captured and given to the local zoo. This film is showing adventures abound as Herman and Georgie head to the zoo in an attempt to rescue their friend.
