Silent Film Star Leatrice Joy Visits Omaha 20s Nightclub
In April of 1968, the University of Omaha (OU) Concerts and Lectures Committee sponsored Midnight Slapstick, a salute to the silent film era. That year the films of Leatrice Joy were featured and the actress travelled to Omaha to take part in the event. After arriving in Omaha, Leatrice Joy made an appearance at the 20s, a 1920s themed nightclub at 73rd and Farnam in Omaha. Leatrice Joy inscribes her 1920s photograph, mounted on the wall of the nightclub: "To the twenties, an era I know very well!! Leatrice Joy."
