The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) was founded in 1908 as the University of Omaha (OU), a private institution under the sponsorship of the Presbyterian Theological Seminary at Omaha. In 1931 OU became a municipal institution, the Municipal University of Omaha. In 1968 OU merged with the University of Nebraska system to become UNO. Professor A.
