About this collection

The Omaha University (OU) YELLow Sheet began in the Fall of 1911 and became the first officially sanctioned student newspaper. When the YELLow Sheet began, issues appeared mysteriously on the campus bulletin board. The first editor was Oldham Paisley, OU class of 1916, who donated the original copies of the YELLow Sheet to the library of the University of Omaha. The newspaper was entitled the YELLow Sheet because it urged all OU students to YELL for the football team. (The YELLow Sheet can also be accessed here:  http://digital.olivesoftware.com/olive/ODN/yellowsheets/)
